The Silver Cross, 33 Whitehall SW1 - a lively old pub, a brothel in the reign of Charles I. Check
out the ceiling, a beautiful barrel-vaulted ceiling. The three pubs along this stretch of Whitehall were
built within what was called the Verge of the Court and all three licensee's must face the Board of the
Green Cloth every three years at Buckingham Palace to obtain their licences.
By this point we're over halfway but it shows a little bit doesn't it.
Head back up Whitehall, walk under Admiralty Arch and head up The Mall. Turn left just before St
James's Palace, up Marlborough Road and cross Pall Mall for Crown Passage.
