Blind Beggar - Whitechapel Road

Blind Beggar, 337 Whitechapel Road, E1 - this is the infamous pub where Ronnie Kray shot dead George Cornell on 8 March 1966 after hearing that Cornell had called him a fat poof. The Blind Beggar also played a prominent role in the birth of The Salvation Army, William Booth speaking at an open-air meeting on the pavement outside in 1865.

Now remember..."You were only supposed to blow his bloody head off!"

Take District Line from Whitechapel to Tower Hill, two stops. Head towards Fenchurch St station and walk along the platform.
